Tørrkjemikalie

Tørrkjemikalie is a Norwegian term that translates to "dry chemical" in English. It refers to a type of fire extinguisher that uses a fine powder to suppress fires. These powders are typically composed of various chemical compounds, often including monoammonium phosphate, sodium bicarbonate, or potassium bicarbonate. The dry chemical agent works by interrupting the chemical reaction of the fire, effectively smothering the flames.

Dry chemical extinguishers are highly versatile and effective against a wide range of fire classes, including Class A (ordinary combustibles like wood and paper), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (electrical fires). Their ability to tackle multiple fire types makes them a common choice for homes, vehicles, and many commercial settings. The powder is expelled under pressure, creating a cloud that blankets the fire.
