Tørketrommelen

Tørketrommelen, often referred to as a clothes dryer, is a household appliance used to remove moisture from a damp clothing or laundry load. Typically, a dryer consists of a rotating drum in which the clothes are tumbled. Heat is supplied by an electric resistance heater or a gas burner. The tumbling action helps to separate the clothes and expose them to the heated air, facilitating the evaporation of moisture. A fan circulates the air through the drum, and the moist air is then exhausted, usually to the outside of the building.

There are two primary types of dryers: vented and ventless. Vented dryers expel the moist, heated air through a duct to the outside. Ventless dryers, on the other hand, condense the moisture from the air, either collecting it in a removable container or draining it away through a water line. Ventless dryers are often preferred in apartments or homes where venting is difficult or impossible.

Modern tumble dryers often include a variety of features such as different heat settings, timed drying cycles, sensor drying, and delicate settings for specific fabrics. Sensor drying technology detects the moisture level in the clothes and automatically shuts off the dryer when the laundry is dry, preventing over-drying and saving energy. The capacity of a dryer is usually measured in kilograms, indicating the maximum weight of wet laundry it can effectively dry. Proper maintenance, such as cleaning the lint filter after each use, is essential for optimal performance and safety.
