Täitmist

Täitmist is an Estonian noun derived from the verb täita, meaning to fill, perform, or fulfill. In general use it denotes the act of completing a task, meeting obligations, or delivering on promises. It can refer to fulfilling duties, fulfilling a contract, or the completion of a plan or request. In everyday language, people speak of täitmise kohustus (the obligation to fulfill) or the successful täitmine of a task.

In a legal context, täitmine often refers to the enforcement of obligations arising from court decisions or other enforceable instruments. The term describes the process by which a creditor seeks realization of a claim or a court order is carried out. In Estonia, enforcement is regulated by the Code of Enforcement Procedure, and the process may involve notification, asset evaluation, seizure of property, wage garnishment, and distribution of funds to creditors. Debtors have rights within the process, including opportunities to challenge measures or seek settlements, while enforcement authorities and officers work under judicial supervision to implement decisions. The overarching objective is to secure the satisfaction of valid claims while respecting the rights of all parties and ensuring proportionality.

Täitmine is also widely used outside the legal sphere to describe the fulfillment of everyday duties: completing tasks in work or education, data entry, or the execution of plans and projects. In such contexts, the meaning remains anchored in finishing or carrying out what was undertaken.
