There are generally two main types of tárgyviszony. The first is the definite object relationship, known as "tárgyas ragozás," where the verb requires a definite direct object. This is often marked by specific suffixes or changes in the verb conjugation when a definite object is present. For example, a verb like "látni" (to see) can take a definite object, and its conjugation will change accordingly.

The second type is the indefinite object relationship, known as "tárgyatlan ragozás." In this case, the verb does not require a specific definite object, or it may take an indefinite object. The verb conjugation remains the same regardless of whether an object is present or its definiteness. Verbs like "enni" (to eat) can be used with or without an object, and the verb form doesn't change based on the object's definiteness.
