Työvoimavaltaista

Työvoimavaltaista, also known as labor power, is a central concept in Marxist political economy, introduced by Karl Marx in his seminal work "Das Kapital." It refers to the capacity of a worker to sell their labor to a capitalist for a wage. This concept is fundamental to Marx's critique of capitalism, as it highlights the exploitation of workers by capitalists.

In Marxist theory, labor power is distinct from the actual labor performed by a worker. The value of labor power is determined by the amount of necessary labor time required to reproduce it, which includes the time needed for the worker to acquire the skills and abilities necessary for their job. This value is then sold to the capitalist, who extracts surplus value from the worker's labor.

Marx argued that under capitalism, workers are alienated from their labor in several ways: they are separated from the product of their labor, they do not control the means of production, and they are not free to determine the conditions of their labor. This alienation leads to the exploitation of workers, as they are forced to sell their labor power for a wage that is less than the value they create.

Työvoimavaltaista is also a key concept in the analysis of the labor market, as it helps to explain the dynamics of wage determination and the distribution of income. It is used to analyze the power relationships between workers and capitalists, and to critique the exploitative nature of capitalist labor relations. Despite its limitations and criticisms, työvoimavaltaista remains a central concept in Marxist political economy and continues to be a subject of debate and analysis among scholars and activists.
