Työturvallisuuslaitos
Työturvallisuuslaitos, often referred to as TTL, was a Finnish government agency responsible for promoting and overseeing occupational safety and health. Its primary objective was to prevent workplace accidents and occupational diseases. TTL conducted research, provided guidance and training, and enforced legislation related to workplace safety. They were instrumental in developing safety standards and best practices across various industries in Finland. The agency also played a role in compensating for work-related injuries and illnesses through its insurance functions, although this aspect was later separated into a different entity. Työturvallisuuslaitos was a key institution in shaping Finland's commitment to a safe working environment for all employees. In 2018, Työturvallisuuslaitos merged with the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (Työterveyslaitos) to form the new Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, continuing its work under a unified structure focused on research, services, and policy development in occupational health and safety.
