Työllistämismuodot, which translates to "forms of employment" in English, refers to the various legal and contractual arrangements under which individuals can be engaged in work. These forms define the rights, responsibilities, and relationship between the employer and the employee. The most common form of employment is a permanent employment relationship, where the work is continuous and the contract is indefinite. In contrast, temporary employment, also known as fixed-term employment, involves a contract for a specific period or for the completion of a particular task.

Another significant form is part-time employment, where an employee works fewer hours than a full-time employee. This can be a permanent or temporary arrangement. Agency work or temporary agency employment involves an individual being employed by a staffing agency and then placed at a client company to perform work. The agency is the legal employer, but the client company usually supervises the day-to-day work.

Gig economy work, often characterized by short-term contracts or freelance assignments, is a more recent and increasingly prevalent työllistämismuoto. Workers in this category are typically self-employed and take on individual tasks or projects. Other forms can include apprenticeships, traineeships, and subsidized employment schemes designed to help specific groups enter the workforce or gain new skills.
