TypeScriptESLint

TypeScript-ESLint is a set of tools that enables ESLint to lint TypeScript code. It provides a TypeScript-compatible parser and a plugin that implements lint rules for TypeScript and TS-specific syntax.

The core components are @typescript-eslint/parser, which parses TypeScript into an ESTree-compatible AST that ESLint can analyze, and @typescript-eslint/eslint-plugin, which exposes rule implementations and recommended configurations.

Configuration typically involves installing TypeScript, ESLint, and the two TypeScript-ESLint packages, then configuring ESLint with parser: '@typescript-eslint/parser', plugins: ['@typescript-eslint'], extends: ['plugin:@typescript-eslint/recommended']; for type-aware rules, parserOptions.project should point to a tsconfig.json. This setup allows ESLint to understand TypeScript syntax and semantics and to apply the rules provided by the plugin.

Type-aware rules rely on TypeScript type information and can catch issues that purely syntactic rules miss. Enabling them requires a tsconfig.json and increases analysis time, but provides deeper insights into code quality and correctness.

TypeScript-ESLint is widely used in TypeScript projects and is the standard approach for linting TypeScript with ESLint.
