Työturvallisuusvalvonta refers to the oversight and inspection activities aimed at ensuring safe and healthy working conditions within Finnish workplaces. This process is primarily the responsibility of the occupational safety and health authorities, namely the Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI) and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (TTL). Their mandate is to monitor compliance with the legislation governing occupational safety and health.

The purpose of työturvallisuusvalvonta is to prevent work-related accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases. It involves a range of activities, including regular inspections of workplaces, responding to reported concerns or complaints from employees or employers, and providing guidance and advice on safety matters. Inspectors assess whether employers are fulfilling their legal obligations to identify and manage workplace risks, provide necessary protective equipment, and ensure adequate training for their employees.

Enforcement measures can be taken if non-compliance is detected.
