Työoikeuslaki
Työoikeuslaki refers to Finnish labor law. It is a body of legislation that governs the relationship between employers and employees. This legislation aims to ensure fair treatment, safe working conditions, and reasonable terms of employment. Key aspects covered by työoikeuslaki include employment contracts, working hours, holidays, sick pay, termination of employment, and collective bargaining. The primary sources of Finnish labor law are the Employment Contracts Act, the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings, the Annual Holidays Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Collective agreements, negotiated between trade unions and employer organizations, also play a significant role in supplementing and detailing statutory provisions. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment are the governmental bodies responsible for labor law policy and administration. Enforcement of labor laws is carried out by various authorities, including the occupational safety and health authorities and the labor court system. The goal of työoikeuslaki is to balance the interests of both employers and employees, promoting harmonious industrial relations and protecting workers' rights.
