Tuuma

Tuuma is the Finnish word for the inch, a unit of length in the imperial system. One tuuma equals 2.54 centimeters (25.4 millimeters). There are 12 tuumaa in one jalka (foot) and 36 tuumaa in one yard.

Finland uses the metric system as the standard for most measurements, but tuuma is still encountered in contexts governed by international standards or historical trade practices. It is commonly seen in product specifications and catalogs for electronics and computer displays, tires and wheels, pipes and pipe fittings, as well as woodworking and metalworking, where inches are specified alongside metric dimensions.
