Turvasidet

Turvasidet is a term that refers to a security bond or financial guarantee required in certain legal or commercial contexts. Its primary purpose is to ensure that a party fulfills specific obligations or to protect another party against potential losses. These bonds are typically issued by a surety company and involve three parties: the principal (the party required to obtain the bond), the obligee (the party who is protected by the bond), and the surety (the company that guarantees the principal's performance).

Turvasidet can be used in a variety of situations, including construction projects where it guarantees the completion of work according to contract terms and payment to subcontractors and suppliers. They can also be required for businesses to obtain licenses or permits, ensuring compliance with regulations. In legal proceedings, a turvasidet might be posted to guarantee payment of a judgment or to ensure the appearance of a defendant. The principal pays a premium to the surety for the bond, and if the principal defaults on their obligations, the surety may pay the obligee to cover the losses.
