Tupakkapäätteet, a Finnish term, translates to "tobacco endings" or "tobacco remnants." It refers to the leftover parts of a smoked tobacco product, such as cigarette butts, cigar stubs, or pipe ash. These remnants are a common form of litter globally, posing environmental and aesthetic concerns.

The composition of tupakkapäätteet primarily includes tobacco residue, the filter (if present, typically made of cellulose acetate), and the paper wrapping. The filter is designed to trap some of the tar and nicotine during smoking, but it does not biodegrade easily and can persist in the environment for years.
