Tualettpaberil, also known as toilet paper, is a soft paper product primarily used for personal hygiene purposes after defecation or urination. It is typically made from virgin pulp or recycled paper and is designed to be soluble in water, allowing it to be safely flushed down toilets without clogging plumbing systems. The manufacturing process involves pulping the raw materials, bleaching them to achieve a white color and softness, and then forming and drying the paper into large rolls. These rolls are then cut and packaged for consumer use.

Historically, people used various materials for hygiene, such as leaves, rags, or corn cobs. The invention of manufactured toilet paper in the mid-19th century marked a significant advancement in sanitation and comfort. Early forms were often sold in flat sheets, but the development of perforated rolls in the late 19th century greatly improved convenience.
