Tsementpõhiste

Tsementpõhiste refers to materials or products that use cement as their primary binding agent. Cement itself is a fine powder, typically gray, that is produced by heating limestone and clay in a kiln. When mixed with water, cement undergoes a chemical reaction called hydration, forming a paste that hardens and binds other materials together. This property makes cement a crucial component in a wide range of construction applications.

Common tsementpõhiste materials include concrete, which is a composite material made from cement, aggregate (such as gravel and sand), and water. When cured, concrete forms a strong and durable building material used for foundations, walls, roads, and many other structures. Mortar is another prominent example, consisting of cement, fine aggregate (sand), and water, used to bind bricks, stones, and other masonry units together. Stucco, a decorative and protective coating for walls, also frequently uses cement as a binder. Grout, a flowable cementitious mixture, is employed to fill voids in masonry, tile joints, and precast concrete elements. The versatility of cement-based materials stems from their ability to be molded into various shapes, their high compressive strength, and their resistance to fire and weathering.
