Tsaparang
Tsaparang was a significant ancient kingdom and later a fortress located in the western Himalayas, within present-day Purang County, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Historically, it was the capital of the Guge Kingdom, which flourished from the 10th to the 17th centuries. The site is perched on a rocky ridge overlooking the Karnali River, a strategic position that facilitated its control over important trade routes connecting Tibet with India and Nepal.
The ruins of Tsaparang are extensive, featuring a palace complex, numerous Buddhist temples, and residential areas.
The decline of Tsaparang and the Guge Kingdom is believed to have occurred in the 17th century,
