Trykkfallsmålere

Trykkfallsmålere, also known as differential pressure gauges or DP gauges, are instruments used to measure the difference in pressure between two points in a system. This pressure difference can provide valuable information about the condition of the system, such as flow rate, level, or filter blockage.

The fundamental principle behind a trykkfallsmåler is the comparison of two pressures. One common type utilizes a diaphragm that is exposed to the higher pressure on one side and the lower pressure on the other. The deflection of the diaphragm is proportional to the pressure difference and is mechanically linked to a pointer that indicates the reading on a calibrated scale. Electronic DP gauges use sensors that convert the pressure difference into an electrical signal, which can then be displayed digitally or transmitted for remote monitoring.

Trykkfallsmålere find wide application across various industries. In HVAC systems, they are used to monitor the pressure drop across air filters, indicating when cleaning or replacement is needed. In industrial processes, they can measure flow rate by inferring it from the pressure drop across a known restriction like an orifice plate or venturi tube. They are also used to determine the liquid level in sealed tanks by measuring the hydrostatic pressure difference.
