TrueView
TrueView is a video advertising format offered by Google Ads that allows advertisers to pay only when a viewer watches their ad for at least 30 seconds, or interacts with the ad, whichever comes first. This model is known as cost-per-view (CPV). TrueView ads are designed to give advertisers more control over their ad spend and to ensure that their message reaches an engaged audience. There are several types of TrueView ads, including in-stream ads, which play before, during, or after other videos, and discovery ads, which appear in YouTube search results, alongside related videos, or on the YouTube mobile homepage. Advertisers can target their TrueView campaigns based on various demographic and interest-based criteria, as well as remarketing lists. The format aims to provide a better viewing experience for users by offering skippable ads after a short introductory period, thereby only charging for viewers who actively choose to continue watching. This pay-for-performance model is intended to increase return on ad spend for advertisers by focusing on audience engagement rather than just impressions.
