Trombotsütopaatiad is a group of inherited disorders that affect platelet function, leading to an increased tendency to bleed. Platelets are small blood cells that play a crucial role in hemostasis, the process of stopping bleeding. In individuals with trombotsütopaatiad, platelets are either produced in insufficient numbers or their ability to aggregate and form a clot is impaired. This can result in symptoms such as easy bruising, prolonged bleeding from cuts, nosebleeds, and bleeding gums. In more severe cases, it can lead to internal bleeding.
