Trolejové

Trolejové refers to a type of vehicle that draws its power from overhead wires through a trolley pole. These vehicles are commonly known as trolleybuses or trackless trolleys. They operate on electricity supplied by a network of two overhead wires, one for the positive current and the other for the negative return. The trolley pole, a long, spring-loaded pole, makes contact with these wires, allowing the vehicle to move.

Trolejové vehicles are distinct from trams or streetcars because they do not run on rails. This allows for greater flexibility in their routes, as they can navigate regular road traffic and deviate from fixed paths when necessary, though they are still bound to the overhead wire system. They are often seen as a compromise between electric trains and buses, offering the environmental benefits of electric propulsion without the need for extensive rail infrastructure.

The technology has been in use since the early 20th century and remains popular in many cities worldwide. They are recognized for their quiet operation and zero tailpipe emissions, contributing to cleaner urban environments.
