Transportblocking refers to the obstruction or disruption of movement within transportation systems, including roads, railways, air routes, shipping lanes, and associated logistics networks. It can be caused by intentional actions, accidental incidents, or environmental factors, and may affect passenger mobility, freight delivery, and information flows within a connected transport ecosystem.

Forms of transportblocking include physical closures and barriers (construction, accidents, vehicle pileups), policy or regulatory measures (curfews, border restrictions, capacity limits), natural events and disasters (floods, snow, earthquakes), and cyber-physical disruptions (signal failures, ransomware attacks on transit operators).

Models include traffic flow theory, network interdiction, queueing theory, and resilience analysis, sometimes using simulation or graph-theoretic approaches.
