Totuusarvojärjestystä

Totuusarvojärjestys refers to the established order of logical operations that determines how complex logical expressions are evaluated. This order ensures that the meaning of a logical statement is unambiguous, much like the order of operations in arithmetic (PEMDAS/BODMAS).

The standard totuusarvojärjestys, from highest precedence to lowest, is as follows: negation (ei), conjunction (ja), disjunction (tai), implication (jos...niin), and biconditional (jos ja vain jos). Parentheses are used to override this default order and explicitly group subexpressions, dictating that the operations within them are performed first.

For example, in the expression "A ja B tai C", the conjunction "A ja B" would be evaluated before the disjunction with C, resulting in the same meaning as "(A ja B) tai C". If the intention were to evaluate "B tai C" first, parentheses would be necessary: "A ja (B tai C)".
