Tolwaarden

Tolwaarden is a historical settlement located in the municipality of Neder-Betuwe in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It lies on the west bank of the Nederrijn, a branch of the Rhine river. Historically, Tolwaarden was a significant location, particularly during the Middle Ages, serving as a toll station where river traffic was taxed. This strategic position along the river contributed to its early development and importance as a crossing point.

The area has evidence of ancient settlements, with archaeological findings suggesting human presence dating back to Roman times.
