Tokeniseeritud

Tokeniseeritud is a word in Estonian meaning “tokenized,” describing data or text that has undergone tokenization. Tokenization is the process of converting a sequence into tokens—discrete units such as words, numbers, or symbols—for easier processing, storage, or transmission. The term is used across fields such as natural language processing, data security, and fintech.

In natural language processing, tokenization splits text into tokens to simplify analysis. Tokens can be words, punctuation marks, or numbers. The resulting tokenization provides consistent input for models, indexing, or linguistic annotation. Tokenised text enables downstream tasks like tagging and parsing, though language specifics pose challenges with punctuation, abbreviations, or clitics.

In data security, tokenization replaces sensitive data with non-sensitive tokens stored in a secure vault. The mapping between tokens and original data is protected, making the original data harder to recover if tokens are exposed. Tokenised data often reduces compliance scope in PCI DSS, healthcare, and other regulated domains. Detokenisation requires authorized access.

In fintech and blockchain, tokenization can refer to representing real-world assets as digital tokens on a distributed ledger, enabling fractional ownership and liquidity. Tokeniseeritud assets are those where ownership rights are expressed by tokens; such implementations raise regulatory and custody considerations.
