Thunderboltcapable
Thunderbolt-capable refers to a device, port, or system that supports the Thunderbolt interface technology. Thunderbolt is a hardware interface developed by Intel in collaboration with Apple that combines PCI Express (PCIe) and DisplayPort (DP) into a single serial signal, and additionally provides DC power. This allows for high-speed data transfer, video output, and power delivery over a single cable. Devices are considered Thunderbolt-capable if they have a Thunderbolt port or are designed to work with Thunderbolt devices. This includes a wide range of peripherals such as external hard drives, docking stations, high-resolution displays, and eGPUs (external Graphics Processing Units). The capability is typically indicated by the presence of a Thunderbolt logo (a lightning bolt symbol) near the port. Different generations of Thunderbolt exist, offering increasing speeds and features. For a device to be Thunderbolt-capable, its hardware must be designed to implement the Thunderbolt protocol.
