Thombelastográfiával

Thombelastográfiával is a Hungarian term referring to the medical diagnostic technique known as thrombelastography. This method measures the viscoelastic properties of blood, providing a comprehensive assessment of its coagulation process. It analyzes the time it takes for a clot to form, its strength, and its rate of lysis.

The procedure involves a sample of blood being placed in a special cup, and a probe is immersed in it. As coagulation factors interact, the blood begins to clot, and this clot formation causes changes in the mechanical resistance between the probe and the cup. These changes are continuously recorded, creating a waveform known as a trace. Different parameters on this trace, such as the R-time (clot formation time), K-time (clot kinetics), alpha angle (rate of clot formation), and maximum amplitude (clot strength), are analyzed to evaluate the overall hemostatic status.

Thrombelastography is particularly useful in managing bleeding disorders, monitoring anticoagulant therapy, and guiding blood product transfusion decisions in critical care settings like surgery and trauma. It offers a dynamic picture of coagulation, contrasting with static laboratory tests. The results can help identify hypercoagulable states, hypocoagulable states, and fibrinolytic activity. The interpretation of the thrombelastogram trace requires expertise, as various patterns can indicate specific coagulation abnormalities.
