Theoraencoded refers to video data that has been compressed using the Theora video codec. Theora is an open, royalty-free video codec developed by the Xiph.org project to provide an open alternative for digital video in the Ogg multimedia framework. It originated as an implementation related to On2 Technologies’ VP3 technology and was released as part of the Ogg Theora specification in the early 2000s.
