Tengeralattjáró

Tengeralattjáró is the Hungarian word for submarine. A submarine is a specialized watercraft capable of independent operation underwater. Submarines are commonly used for military purposes, such as reconnaissance, attack, and deterring enemy vessels. They can also be employed for scientific research, exploration of the deep sea, and even tourism.

The fundamental principle of submarine operation relies on buoyancy control. By altering the amount of water within ballast tanks, a submarine can adjust its overall density. When the tanks are filled with water, the submarine becomes denser than the surrounding water and sinks. Conversely, when water is expelled from the tanks and replaced with air, the submarine becomes less dense and rises.

Submarines are equipped with various propulsion systems, traditionally diesel-electric for surface or shallow-water travel and battery power for underwater operation. Modern submarines often utilize nuclear reactors, providing virtually unlimited underwater range and speed, as well as eliminating the need for frequent surfacing to recharge batteries or refuel. Their hulls are designed to withstand immense pressure at great depths.
