Teleostfiskarna
Teleostfiskarna is the largest and most diverse group of ray-finned fish, comprising over 99% of all living fish species. They represent the vast majority of vertebrate biodiversity and are found in nearly every aquatic habitat on Earth, from freshwater rivers and lakes to the deepest oceans. Teleostfiskarna are characterized by several key evolutionary innovations that have contributed to their widespread success. These include a homocercal tail fin, which allows for efficient propulsion, and a highly maneuverable dorsal fin, which aids in stability and steering. Their jaws are also highly mobile, enabling a wide range of feeding strategies.
The group is incredibly diverse in size, shape, and lifestyle, with examples ranging from the tiny pygmy
