Technetium99mPentetat
Technetium-99m pentetate, often abbreviated as 99mTc-DTPA, is a radiopharmaceutical used in medical imaging. It consists of the radionuclide technetium-99m (99mTc) bound to pentetic acid, also known as diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA). Technetium-99m is a metastable isotope with a half-life of about six hours, emitting gamma rays that are ideal for detection by gamma cameras.
99mTc-DTPA is primarily employed in renography, a nuclear medicine procedure used to assess kidney function. It
Beyond renography, 99mTc-DTPA can also be used for cisternography, which visualizes the flow of cerebrospinal fluid
