Taustaksi

Taustaksi is a Finnish term used to denote something that functions as background in visual, textual, or informational contexts. The word is formed from tausta, meaning “background,” and the essive suffix -ksi, which expresses a role or function, roughly translating to “as background.” In practice, taustaksi describes elements that support foreground subject without drawing attention away from it.
