Tarokinian

Tarokinian is a fictional language created by linguist David J. Peterson for the HBO series *Game of Thrones*. It is spoken by the Tarok people, a seafaring group from the southern continent of Essos. Peterson designed Tarokinian to reflect the culture and history of its speakers, who are depicted as pragmatic and independent. The language features a complex grammatical structure with a unique case system and a rich vocabulary that includes many terms related to the sea, trade, and navigation.

The phonology of Tarokinian is characterized by a variety of guttural and sibilant sounds, intended to evoke the harsh environment and resilient nature of the Tarok people. Peterson drew inspiration from several real-world languages, including Basque and Georgian, to create its distinctive sound.
