Tapahtumaid

Tapahtumaid is a nonstandard form related to the Finnish noun tapahtuma, which means event. The form does not conform to standard Finnish declension patterns. In normal Finnish, the plural nominative is tapahtumat and the genitive plural is tapahtumien. Because tapahtumaid does not fit these systems, it is generally regarded as incorrect in formal writing and standard references.

The appearance of tapahtumaid in texts is usually the result of nonstandard usage, typographical error, or cross-language influence rather than a recognized grammatical form. It is not listed as a correct plural in Finnish dictionaries, and speakers are advised to use tapahtumat when referring to multiple events in the subject form, or tapahtumien when constructing a genitive or possessive construction.
