Tanúsítványalapú

Tanúsítványalapú, meaning "certificate-based" in Hungarian, refers to a security or authentication mechanism that relies on digital certificates. These certificates are electronic documents that bind a public key to an identity, typically an individual, organization, or device. They are issued and verified by a trusted third party, known as a Certificate Authority (CA).

In a certificate-based system, when one party wishes to communicate securely or authenticate with another, they present their digital certificate. The receiving party then verifies the certificate's validity by checking its signature against the CA's public key. If the certificate is deemed valid, it confirms the identity of the presenter and allows for secure communication, often through encryption, or for access to protected resources.

Common applications of certificate-based systems include secure websites (HTTPS), secure email, digital signatures, and secure network access. This method provides a robust way to ensure authenticity and integrity, as the trust is placed in the CA's rigorous validation process. It is a fundamental component of public key infrastructure (PKI).
