Tankerhajók

Tankerhajók, often referred to as oil tankers, are vessels designed for the bulk transport of liquid cargo. Their primary purpose is to move crude oil, refined petroleum products, or other liquid chemicals across oceans and seas. These ships are characterized by their large size, often exceeding hundreds of meters in length, and a distinctive deck structure that houses numerous storage tanks. The cargo is carried in a series of interconnected tanks below deck, separated by bulkheads to prevent excessive sloshing and improve structural integrity.

The construction of tankerhajók is specialized to handle the flammable and potentially hazardous nature of their cargo. They feature advanced pumping systems for loading and unloading, as well as safety mechanisms to prevent spills and explosions. The size of tankers varies significantly, from smaller coastal tankers to massive supertankers like Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) and Ultra Large Crude Carriers (ULCCs), capable of carrying millions of barrels of oil.
