Talossans

Talossans refers to the citizens of the Principality of Talossa, a micronation that claims sovereignty over a territory in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The micronation was founded in 1979 by Robert Ben Madison, who declared himself King Robert I. Talossa has a written constitution, its own language (Talossan), and a system of government with a king, prime minister, and elected officials.

The micronation's claimed territory is a small parcel of land in Wisconsin, but its primary active community is based in the United States. Talossa has developed a complex cultural identity, including its own history, mythology, and a functioning online presence. The micronation has engaged in diplomatic exchanges with other micronations and has a number of citizens residing in various countries.

The concept of Talossan citizenship is distinct from national citizenship and is generally acquired through application and acceptance by the Talossan government. While the Principality of Talossa is not recognized by any sovereign states, it represents a notable example of a long-standing and internally organized micronation.
