Taken

"Taken" is a 2002 American action thriller film directed by Pierre Morel and written by Luc Besson. The film stars Liam Neeson as Bryan Mills, a former CIA operative who is taken hostage by a group of terrorists in Paris. The group, led by the ruthless Jean-Pierre LaFleur (played by Jason Flemyng), demands a ransom of $10 million in exchange for Bryan's release. Bryan, however, is not your typical hostage. He is a skilled and experienced operative, and he uses his knowledge and skills to outmaneuver the terrorists and ultimately rescue his daughter, Kim (played by Maggie Grace), who was also taken hostage. The film is known for its intense action sequences and its exploration of the themes of family, loyalty, and the lengths to which one will go to protect their loved ones. "Taken" was a commercial success, grossing over $145 million worldwide. It was followed by two sequels, "Taken 2" (2012) and "Taken 3" (2014). The film is notable for its use of the French language, with much of the dialogue spoken in French. The film's tagline is "He's taken. But he's not gone."
