TUTasemediated
TUTasemediated refers to a biological process or phenomenon that is influenced or caused by the enzyme terminal uridylyltransferase (TUTase). TUTases are a family of enzymes that catalyze the addition of uridines to the 3' end of nucleic acids, primarily RNA. This uridylation can have diverse functional consequences for the target nucleic acid, affecting its stability, localization, and interaction with other molecules.
The most extensively studied TUTase is terminal uridylyltransferase 1 (TUT1), also known as ZCCHC11. TUT1 plays
Other TUTases also exist, with different substrate specificities and cellular roles. For example, terminal uridylyltransferase 2
