TTCstasjoner

TTC stations, or TTCstasjoner as used in some Norwegian-language references, are the network of passenger-transit stations operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The system includes subway stations on Line 1 Yonge–University and Line 2 Bloor–Danforth, as well as surface stops for buses and streetcars that connect the city’s rapid and local services.

Subway stations typically feature enclosed platforms with controlled access, along with facilities such as elevators or escalators to improve accessibility. Surface stops are located along streets or dedicated lanes and may offer curbside or side platforms. Many stations provide multiple entrances and serve as transfer points between lines and transit modes.

Union Station is the principal intermodal hub, offering connections to GO Transit and other rail services. Bloor–Yonge is a major transfer point between Line 1 and Line 2. The TTC uses the PRESTO fare system; riders tap in with PRESTO cards or compatible tickets, and station displays and apps provide real-time trip information.

The TTC was established in 1954 through the consolidation of municipal streetcar and bus systems. Subway service began in 1954, with successive expansions adding new lines and stations. In recent years the TTC has focused on accessibility improvements and station modernization to enhance safety, comfort, and reliability.
