TMEM175
TMEM175 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TMEM175 gene. This gene is located on chromosome 19q13.3. TMEM175 belongs to the transmembrane protein family, which includes proteins that span the cell membrane. The exact function of TMEM175 is not fully understood, but it is believed to play a role in cellular processes such as cell signaling and cell adhesion. Some studies suggest that TMEM175 may be involved in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. Mutations in the TMEM175 gene have been associated with certain genetic disorders, including a rare form of intellectual disability and developmental delay. Further research is needed to fully elucidate the role of TMEM175 in human health and disease.
