TCPU

TCPU stands for the Transatlantic Cooperation on Physical Unclonable Functions. It is a collaborative research initiative involving academic institutions and industry partners across the United States and Europe. The primary objective of TCPU is to advance the understanding, development, and standardization of Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs). PUFs are hardware security primitives that exploit inherent variations in the manufacturing process of semiconductor devices to create unique, device-specific keys or identifiers. These keys are extremely difficult to replicate, offering a robust solution for device authentication and security.

The TCPU project focuses on several key areas. These include exploring novel PUF architectures, developing robust testing and characterization methodologies, investigating the security vulnerabilities of existing PUFs and proposing countermeasures, and contributing to the standardization efforts for PUF technologies. The collaborative nature of TCPU allows for the sharing of expertise, resources, and research findings among participants, accelerating progress in the field. By bringing together diverse perspectives, TCPU aims to foster innovation and ensure the reliable and secure deployment of PUF-based security solutions in various applications, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), secure hardware modules, and anti-counterfeiting measures. The project also emphasizes the importance of open research and aims to make its findings publicly accessible to the wider research community.
