TACSTD

TACSTD, also known as Trop-2 or TROP2, is a transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a role in cell adhesion and signaling. It is a member of the calcium signal transducer family. TACSTD is encoded by the TACSTD1 gene.

The TACSTD protein is expressed on the surface of various normal and cancerous cells. It is particularly abundant in epithelial tissues and is often overexpressed in several types of cancer, including breast, lung, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. This overexpression has led to its investigation as a potential diagnostic marker and therapeutic target in oncology.

TACSTD functions by interacting with other cell surface molecules and intracellular signaling pathways. It is believed to be involved in cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation.
