T7SS1

T7SS1, also known as Type VII secretion system 1, is a multi-protein complex found in various bacteria, particularly prevalent in mycobacteria like *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*. This secretion system is crucial for the transport of effector proteins across the bacterial cell envelope, which consists of a complex lipid-rich outer membrane. The T7SS1 is distinct from other secretion systems due to its unique structure and function, enabling the translocation of specific substrates, often involved in host-pathogen interactions.

The T7SS1 machinery is composed of several core components, including transmembrane proteins, membrane proteins, and ATPases.
