Téléologie
Téléologie is a philosophical concept that explains phenomena in terms of their purpose or final cause. It suggests that things exist or happen for a reason, with a goal or end in mind. This contrasts with mechanistic explanations, which focus on efficient causes or the preceding events that lead to a particular outcome. In essence, teleology posits that the universe, or aspects of it, is directed towards a specific telos, or end goal.
