Sünoviotsüütidest

Sünoviotsüütidest refers to synovial cells, which are the cells that line the synovial membrane within joints. This membrane produces synovial fluid, a viscous, lubricating substance that nourishes the cartilage and reduces friction between the bones of the joint. Synovial cells are essentially responsible for the maintenance and health of the joint's internal environment.

There are two main types of synovial cells: type A and type B. Type A cells are phagocytic, meaning they engulf and remove cellular debris and waste products from the synovial fluid, acting as a cleaning crew for the joint. Type B cells are fibroblast-like and are responsible for synthesizing and secreting the components of synovial fluid, including hyaluronic acid and lubricating proteins.

Disruptions or abnormalities in synovial cell function can lead to various joint conditions. For example, inflammation of the synovial membrane, known as synovitis, is a common feature of inflammatory arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis. In this condition, synovial cells can become hyperactive, leading to excessive production of inflammatory mediators and synovial fluid, which in turn can damage cartilage and bone. Understanding the role and behavior of sünoviotsüütidest is therefore crucial in diagnosing and treating joint diseases.
