Sõidukaart

Sõidukaart, which translates to "travel card" or "fare card" in English, is a common term in Estonia for a rechargeable card used for public transportation. Primarily associated with the public transport system in Tallinn, the sõidukaart functions as a cashless payment method for bus, tram, trolleybus, and sometimes even ferry services. Passengers load money onto the card, and then tap it against a validator on the vehicle or at a station to pay for their journey. The fare is deducted from the card's balance.

The sõidukaart system aims to streamline the ticketing process, reduce the need for physical tickets, and provide a more convenient experience for commuters. There are typically different types of sõidukaart available, including options for registered users which can offer discounted fares or monthly passes, and anonymous cards for occasional travelers.
