Säkerhetsrådet
Säkerhetsrådet is the Swedish term for the United Nations Security Council. It is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, established by the UN Charter in 1945. Its primary responsibility is the maintenance of international peace and security. The Council is composed of fifteen members, five of which are permanent members with veto power: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The remaining ten members are elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms.
