Säkerhetsdatabladens, often abbreviated as SDS, are standardized documents that provide comprehensive information about a chemical substance or mixture. These sections include identification of the substance or mixture and its supplier, hazard identification, composition or information on ingredients, first-aid measures, fire-fighting measures, accidental release measures, handling and storage, exposure controls/personal protection, physical and chemical properties, stability and reactivity, toxicological information, ecological information, disposal considerations, transport information, regulatory information, and other relevant information.

The primary purpose of safety data sheets is to inform workers and emergency responders about the potential risks associated with a chemical and how to mitigate them. This information is crucial for developing appropriate safety procedures, selecting personal protective equipment (PPE), and responding effectively in case of an accident.
