Sädemeta

Sädemeta is a sustainable and eco-friendly building material made from the sap of the aleppo pine tree (Pinus halepensis). The sap, also known as sap of the pine, is harvested and processed into a lightweight, insulated, and fire-resistant material.

The manufacturing process involves collecting the sap from the aleppo pine trees, typically found in the Mediterranean region and parts of Asia. The collected sap is then heated and pressed to remove excess water, resulting in a raw material that is then molded into its desired shape.

Sädemeta is valued for its excellent thermal insulation properties, which make it an attractive option for building walls, roofs, and floors. Its density range of 0.8-1.4 g/cm3 provides effective thermal resistance against temperature fluctuations, contributing to energy efficiency and reduced energy consumption.

Sädemeta also exhibits notable fire-resistance characteristics, helped by its composition of wood cellular structure and a low moisture content. This characteristic makes it a safer option for residential and commercial building projects.

Acoustic insulation is another notable property of sädemeta, demonstrating relevant impact in reducing exterior noise pollution. Its high mass per unit area also aids in building earthquake resistance.
