Szívmködési

Szívmködési is a Hungarian term that translates to "heart function" or "cardiac function" in English. It refers to the physiological processes by which the heart pumps blood throughout the body. This complex mechanism involves the coordinated contraction and relaxation of the heart muscle, known as the myocardium, to ensure adequate oxygen and nutrient delivery to all tissues and organs.

The primary role of szívmködési is to maintain circulation. The heart acts as a muscular pump, divided into four chambers: two atria and two ventricles. The right side of the heart receives deoxygenated blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs for oxygenation. The left side of the heart receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and pumps it to the rest of the body. This rhythmic cycle of filling and emptying chambers is controlled by electrical impulses generated by specialized cells within the heart's conduction system.

The efficiency and effectiveness of szívmködési are crucial for overall health. Various factors can influence heart function, including heart rate (the number of beats per minute), stroke volume (the amount of blood pumped per beat), and cardiac output (the total volume of blood pumped per minute). Medical conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, and arrhythmias can impair szívmködési, leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, fatigue, and chest pain. Understanding and monitoring heart function is therefore a cornerstone of cardiovascular medicine.
